Dear Member
The Consumer Coordination Council (CCC) is currently soliciting proposals from Consumer organisations for contract services to edit, design and maintain the Newsletter of the Consumer Online Resource and Empowerment Centre (CORE Centre).
Any member consumer organisation is interested and qualified, please submit a copy of your proposal latest by 5.30 p.m. on 10th May 2005.
About this RFP
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP), CCC requests for the quotations for providing content, maintaining a newsletter service to subscribers of the Core Centre Newsletter.
About the CORE Centre
The CORE Centre has been conceived to generate consumer awareness and empowerment of all sectors of the society and facilitate the involvement of District Consumer Information Centres (DCICs), Voluntary Consumer Organisations (VCOs) and Consumer Groups, Non Government Organisations (NGOs), Government Bodies and Consumers. The fundamental principle on which the project is founded is based on the premise that Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can be effectively used for –
(i) Generating awareness
(ii) development of consumer rights;
(iii) focusing corporate attention on consumer needs and preferences;
(iv) orienting government functioning vis-à-vis citizens; and
(v) seeking enforcement of citizen charters.
The following deliverables of the CORE Centre have been completed, viz.
(i) Creation of a National Resource Centre;
(ii) Online database/ portal;
(iii) Online Complaint Registration And Mediation Mechanism
The newsletter service is one of the focal deliverables of the CORE Centre with following objectives as contained in the proposal of CCC to the Ministry, viz.-
Newsletter Service
An external, independent newsletter service ensures that the detailed information in the National Resource Centre and the Online Database are circulated to stakeholders in a regular, steady and comprehensive manner. If the newsletters are dispatched in electronic format, apart from the reduced costs, benefits of personalisation is possible and will ensure that only focused and important information is dispatched to the subscribers as per the subscribers requirement.
The objectives of the Newsletter Service will be;
(i) Development of National Information gathering mechanisms on consumer related issues;
(ii) Dissemination of information on important consumer issues
(iii) Augmenting the Research and Documentation Centre (highlighting the work of partner members) on various consumer issues
(iv) Providing information and analysis of consumer related laws and judgments
(v) To draw attention to the online support and consumer complaints redressal functions of the CORE Centre
